Jeanette Belew has been working in the mental health field and criminal justice system for over 20 years. She believes in empowering her clients to make the changes they see fit to improve their overall functioning. Her background includes working with mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, relationship issues, and substance abuse issues. Jeanette is also qualified to conduct forensic evaluations and psychological evaluations.

For over twenty years, Jeanette has been using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to assist clients in reaching their therapeutic goals. She has found this evidence-based modality highly valuable for a variety of issues, from processing trauma, managing pain, losing weight, enhancing performance, gaining self-insight, and improving overall functioning. Jeanette has recently begun combining Brainspotting with her extensive knowledge of EMDR. Brainspotting was discovered by an EMDR therapist in 2003, who discovered that eye positions correlate with the unconscious, emotional experiences. Jeanette has found EMDR especially valuable when also combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and sand tray.

Jeanette began her career in Kansas at a community mental health center where she treated clients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, marital issues, and parenting issues. She has conducted psychological evaluations for the juvenile court and for the foster care system. Also, she has facilitated group and individual sex offender treatment for adults and adolescents and was a state certified mediator. For thirteen years, Jeanette has conducted forensic psychological evaluations for the Dallas County Court System. Her involvement in all these areas allows her to take a multidisciplinary approach to helping patients take control over their mental and physical wellbeing.

Jeanette is a believer in self-care and stress management through physical activity.  She has trained at the Cooper Institute, is a CrossFit Level two trainer, and runs half-marathons. She is also active in PEO Chapter IQ.
