The Best Feel-Good Movies to Improve Your Mood

What can be a feel-good movie? You cannot specifically narrow down the definition because, for some, an action thriller packed with fight sequences is the ideal way to feel good on a cozy night. A satisfying movie can be a mystery for others, while others may prefer romance over anything else. So putting together a feel-good movie list is no easy task.

But we have managed to pull off a list which personally makes us leaving better than we pushed the play button.

NOW AND THEN

This melancholic drama is set in the summer of 1970 which follows the adventures of four 12-year-old girls. As they grow up, three of them return home to reunite with their childhood best friend while going through the last days of her first pregnancy. The four best friends share their memories of the previous summer they spent together – the summer when they bid farewell to their innocent selves and grew up.

THE HOLIDAY

This romantic comedy stars two young women – one from America and the other from Britain – who swap their homes at Christmas time. This they do after a bad breakup with their boyfriends. Both of them find romance with a local man). But soon, they realize that their imminent return home will end their special relationship.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Jane Austen’s admired story of the game of love among the British upper classes returns to the screen in this splendid movie. In this adaptation of the novel, the protagonist, who lives with her parents and sisters in rural England, faces mounting pressure to marry.

She is the eldest is also the most outspoken one. Keira is then introduced to the handsome and upper-class Matthew MacFadyen, who does not resonate well with Keira. Although there is obvious chemistry between the two, Matthews’s overly reserved nature threatens the budding relationship.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S

This feel-good movie is based upon Truman Capote’s novel, which tells the tale of a struggling writer who becomes enchanted with his neighbor. She is an independent young woman striving to be a high climbing socialite. The young woman meets the young man when he moves into the same apartment building. The young woman, on the other hand, is working as an expensive escort and searching for an older rich man to marry.

FANTASTIC MR. FOX

Living in a rural bliss for 12 years are Mr. and Mrs. Fox with their son Ash. Their visiting young nephew is Kristopherson. Mr. Fox breaks the long old promise he made to his wife and raids the farms of their human neighbors Boggis, Bunce, and Bean. Surrendering to his animal instincts endangers his life and his marriage, and the lives of other animal friends. The feel-good factor about this movie is the natural craftiness of Mr. Fox and his underground company, which help rise above the opposition.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

Based on a true story, this feel-good movie shows Frank W. Abagnale employed as a lawyer, doctor, and co-pilot for a major airline at the age of 16. A con master, he undertakes a brilliant forgery that registers him as the most successful bank robber in US history. FBI agent Carl makes it his prime mission to capture Frank, who always manages to stay one step ahead of him.

The titles mentioned here are our versions of the feel-good movies guide. They have managed to fill our hearts with laughter. They portrayed characters we rooted for and could relate to. In times like these, we assume they will serve us good company.
