Halley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Colorado, and a provisionally licensed clinician in Missouri. She grew up in Texas, and always felt a passion to help people. Despite the dashed dreams of being a Ninja Turtle, Halley continued to embrace her calling of helping others, and learned that she felt most fulfilled, was by listening to people – whether about the joys or the sorrows of life. She studied in Nacogdoches, TX for her undergraduate degree in general psychology, and completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in Denver, CO. In her clinical internship she helped spearhead a Family Therapy program at the Denver Salvation Army. Despite initial work in addictions, and later with children, Halley found that her calling was in helping couples navigate difficult experiences. Over her years in private practice, Halley began to specialize in working with couples – helping them learn to find the rhythm between each other once more.

The primary therapeutic modality that she utilizes in her work is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), though it is not uncommon for her to explore other techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Prepare-Enrich Assessment for Premarital Counseling.

Her warmth, compassion, and genuine care are evident in her work, and she often uses humor and imagery to deepen experience, understanding, and connection. She works to meet people where they are at, and utilizes that understanding to strengthen and stabilize the bonds within a relationship. In her individual work this means that Halley is able to “get in the sandbox” with each individual’s experience, and explore the challenges that create distress in their lives.

Halley enjoys a number of different things in her spare time including reading, writing, and playing video games with her husband and two sons.
