About

I began my career as a caseworker at a community domestic violence shelter for women and children, where I first recognized the profound impact of generational trauma on mental health in contemporary society. This realization inspired me to pursue a Master’s degree at Dominican University. Upon completing my graduate studies, I worked as a school social worker, focusing on the social-emotional needs of students within the educational setting.

After several years in the school system, I transitioned into private practice as a therapist, where I refined my clinical skills and developed into a compassionate and dedicated professional. My experience has deepened my understanding of the far-reaching effects of trauma on both the human experience and day-to-day functioning.

Passionate about a holistic approach to healing, I became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), utilizing this powerful tool to help clients process and move through trauma that has kept them stuck in cycles of fight, flight, or freeze. I am also particularly interested in somatic techniques and the nervous system’s role in trauma, exploring how physical tension and stored emotional experiences manifest as both psychological distress and physical symptoms.

Committed to my own growth and continuous learning, I am dedicated to providing creative, individualized strategies to help clients navigate their journey toward healing and a fulfilling life.

Why did you join Curis?
I joined Curis because it aligned with my career goals and focuses on treating the whole person not just one area. As a therapist I understand that there could be more going on with a persons health and anxiety or depression, for example may be stemming from a traumatic event causing the nervous system to be activating somatic symptoms, or the person could have a vitamin/mineral deficiency causing depressive symptoms for example. So, I appreciate that Curis takes a look at the person as a whole to treat them.
