Kimberly approaches each client and family where they are. She believes that therapy is about the relationship and works to create an environment with relationship and connection. She enjoys working with clients to establish and achieve their goals. Kimberly strives to tailor therapy for each client to help them create better relationships, coping strategies, behavior patterns, and attachments to those around them.

Early on, Kimberly received training with acute children and adolescents in PHP and IOP services. She uses the techniques she learned there to work with children, adolescents, and young adults with emotional regulation, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, mindfulness, impulsivity, child/parent relationships, trauma, anger, aggression, ADHD/executive functioning, and autism.

Kimberly enjoys working with children and parents who striving to find workable solutions as they come to a better place for their families. Divorce, separation, and going between two homes can be incredibly challenging for parents and children. Kimberly works with children and their parents as they navigate those tricky and often highly conflicted waters.

Kimberly is certified in perinatal mental health which encompasses infertility, infant loss, miscarriage, postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, and OCD, along with other mood disorders and complications during the perinatal period.

Kimberly has been working with couples since 2009 in premarital and marriage counseling using Prepare/Enrich and later began using PACT to work with couples and co-parents.

EMDR is a highly effective modality when working with trauma, PTSD, car crashes, persistent negative thought patterns, anxiety, and depression. Kimberly is able to use EMDR with children and adults as needed.

Christian counseling is available upon request of the client and can be incorporated into counseling at the client’s comfort level.
