About

Shuqueta, originally from Chicago, Illinois, moved to Texas at ten with her mother and older sister. During this time, she witnessed her mother’s journey with mental illness, which ignited her passion for counseling and helping others navigate difficult paths. This experience gave her a deep understanding of the complexities of relationships and their significance.

At the core of Shuqueta’s approach is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can freely explore their emotions and vulnerabilities. She emphasizes that life does not come with a manual, and her goal is to help clients transition from merely surviving to thriving by collaborating closely with them throughout their journey.

Shuqueta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. She is an EMDR-trained therapist who utilizes CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to aid healing.

Outside of her professional life, Shuqueta cherishes spending time with her husband and children, whether traveling or enjoying a lively game night at home. A self-proclaimed food enthusiast, she loves discovering new culinary experiences.
