Hello, my name is Dr. Liz Penshorn and I am a born and raised Minnesotan! I grew up and graduated high school in Coon Rapids, MN. My upbringing included slow pitch softball, Girl Scouts, volleyball, track and field, weight lifting, and playing the cello. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science at the University of Minnesota Duluth. In Duluth, I found joy in hiking throughout the scenic North Shore, which fostered a deep appreciation for green spaces that I carry into my hobbies today, including rollerblading, rock climbing, backpacking, and hammocking. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota in 2020.
At home, I share my life with my partner Edgar, Benji (standard poodle), Lorenzo (leopard gecko), Ximena and Coco (boa constrictors), Tork (ball python), and Sabrina (bullsnake).
I became a physical therapist to help people move their bodies in ways that are not only pain-free but also fun! Whether that means getting back to running or being able to get on and off the ground to play with grandchildren, I am here to support you. In 2024, I underwent back surgery due to pain with no specific cause, which transformed how I practice and gave me a deeper understanding of what my patients may experience during their own rehabilitative journeys. Together, I hope we find your new groove and move your body therapeutically to reach your goals and maximize your human experience!
