About

My name is Nicole. Before we start working together, I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I am passionate about empowering my clients to become advocates for their own health. My counseling approach is very patient-centered. During sessions, my patients are guided through self-discovery, enabling them to become a more informed and proactive members of their own healthcare journey, no more “white coat syndrome” here! During each counseling session, I take a holistic approach, not only focusing on nutrition education but also considering the crucial interplay between the mind and body (and yes, spirit) when it comes to making lasting changes. I meet my clients where they are, finding practical ways to integrate health and wellness into their busy lives. I aim to help my clients live vibrantly by encouraging practical changes that prevent feelings of deprivation and lead to the fulfillment of their desired health goals.

My educational background includes both a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Nutrition. With 5 years of scientific research experience at some of the nation’s leading research institutes, including the National Institutes of Health and Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute, I am skilled at translating complex scientific information into easily understandable concepts for my clients. I firmly believe that when patients truly grasp the basic science behind diet and lifestyle changes, they are more likely to commit to and sustain long-term improvements.

I received my nutrition training at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, where the focus was on integrative and functional whole foods nutrition. Here, I was trained to collaborate with an integrative healthcare team, including Naturopathic doctors, as well as Herbal and Chinese medicine practitioners, to provide comprehensive holistic care to all my patients. In 2021, I completed my certification at the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy and now specialize in providing functional nutrition therapy to clients dealing with chronic gastrointestinal issues (such as SIBO/SIFO, GERD, IBS, IBD, and intestinal permeability), autoimmune diseases, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and weight management. My approach to health and wellness brings a unique perspective. My hope and desire is to help my clients transition from merely surviving to truly thriving in their body and their lives.

Who are you are best positioned to serve?
I work best with clients who are ready to learn about their bodies and engage in a collaborative process. I am here to guide and support, while empowering my clients to take an active role in their health. Together, we explore the “why” behind symptoms and build sustainable, realistic strategies that feel supportive rather than restrictive.
What areas you feel are your biggest strengths?
I bring a highly personalized, patient-centered approach to care. I take the time to truly listen, meet you where you are, and create realistic strategies that fit your life. I excel at creating a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel heard and empowered.
What's your favorite part about being a dietitian?
My favorite part of being a dietitian is supporting clients in reconnecting with their bodies on a deeper level; physically, mentally, and even spiritually. I love helping people understand the “why” behind their symptoms, build trust with their bodies, and move away from rigid or restrictive approaches to health. Seeing clients transition from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling empowered, nourished, and aligned in their health journey is the most rewarding part of my work.
What can clients expect?
Clients can expect to leave sessions with a better understanding of their body and a more grounded approach to navigating their symptoms. While we may not always have a clear-cut answer right away, we focus on identifying patterns, building awareness, and creating a plan that feels supportive and sustainable. You’ll walk away with practical, personalized strategies that fit your life and the confidence to move forward in your health journey feeling supported, empowered, and more connected to your body.
Why did you join Curis?
I joined Curis because I value being part of a collaborative, integrative care model that truly supports the whole person. It was important to me to be in a space where nutrition is recognized as a key part of health, and where I can work alongside other providers to give clients more comprehensive, well-rounded care. Curis also allows me to connect with individuals who are ready for a more personalized, thoughtful approach to their health, which aligns deeply with how I practice.
