Stephanie believes in a collaborative approach to therapy. The client is the expert on their life and experiences, and each therapy session is tailored to the client’s needs and goals. Stephanie utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy principles along with creative arts therapy techniques to assist the client in reaching their therapeutic goals. Creative expression can create an outlet for the client without the pressure of finding the right words to relay difficult emotions. It also allows the client an experiential process that can relieve tension from everyday stresses. Her desire is to assist each client in building their inner strength to face any trial that may come their way.

Stephanie has experience working with individual clients confronting anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, self-esteem, life transitions, trauma, executive functioning, and mental health diagnosis. Stephanie also has experience leading adolescent and adult groups within the inpatient hospital setting and co-leading a communication skills group composed of adults with intellectual disabilities and delays. Stephanie is particularly passionate about working with prenatal and postpartum mothers moving through the changes pregnancy and birth brings. While completing her masters, Stephanie used that time to study the effects of PTSD and postpartum depression on mothers and the family unit.

Stephanie received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M- Commerce and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
