I earned my master’s in Professional Counseling in 2020 from the University of Stephen F. Austin State University in East Texas. I am currently an LPC-A and I am supervised by Mayra Sigala-Ramon. I enjoy working with pre-teens, teens and young adults. Previously I have worked with children and families in a Child Advocacy Center and with kids in a partial hospitalization/ intensive outpatient program setting. In each setting I worked with kids and parents experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, family issues, LGBTQIA+ issues, self-harming, life transitions, and religious trauma.

I like to approach therapy from a client centered, strength based perspective. I believe that clients are the experts on their own life. I also believe that it is important to recognize what you are already doing well and build from there. Together we will work to untangle your thoughts and feelings, bringing a greater understanding of yourself and how you experience the world.

As a therapist I strive to provide care that is affirming to queer and trans folks as well as care that is fat/body affirming. I also believe that it is important to take into account all identities such as ethnicity, and cultural identities into each session because therapy is not a one size fits all. I do pull many techniques from CBT and DBT but will modify the skill or technique to fit each client’s unique issues and struggles.
