Have You Tried Every
Weight Loss Program?

We meet so many clients who have tried just about every weight loss program. If you stop and think about it … is losing weight a one size fits all thing? At Curis Functional Health, we realize that every patient is different, and we have created a unique program that breaks the cycle and gets the results you are looking for.

Numbers Beyond
The Weight Scale

It’s important though to understand how much of a problem we are having with weight in the US. According to the National Weight Control Registry, there are about 108 Million people on diets in the United States, and these dieters make about 4-5 attempts each year. There are about 220,000 people with morbid obesity.

Obesity also brings an increased risk for other diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, stroke, depression, or anxiety. There’s no better time than right now to make changes to your current lifestyle. Not only will you feel better about yourself, but the changes that will impact you will also make a huge difference for your family.

The Reason For
Our Patients’ Success

The reason we have so much success with weight loss at Curis Functional Health, is that we know that everyone’s reason for weight gain can be completely different. Weight gain for some patients results from stress or poor lifestyle choices, and for others, it can be more complicated. It’s not uncommon for us to find that some people are pre-diabetic and need assistance with handling blood sugars. Others may struggle with weight loss because of infections or conditions like Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. Still, others may have found comfort in food, engaged in emotional or stress eating, or have never learned to care about themselves.

Our team of health professionals (weight loss director and psychologists) work together to first find the cause of your weight gain. We use a variety of diagnostics to uncover as much information as we can. Then we will review that information with you and make a customized plan that makes sense for you.

What you won’t find in our program are “meal replacements,” medications that only work while you are taking them and produce side effects, shakes, or supplements you have to be taking forever. This program teaches you what foods to eat for your genetics. It teaches you how to overcome your habits, how to have a better relationship with food and your body so you can live a healthy lifestyle.

The best way to learn more about what we do is to come into the office and meet with our team. We will spend the time necessary to create a plan that will work for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Weight Loss Program

The average amount of weight lost in the first 6 weeks in our clinic is 26.2 pounds, and we have had others lose 75+ pounds in 9 months, or more. That said, every person that we work with has different amounts of weight that they need to lose, and no two people lose weight at exactly the same rate.
We have some patients that want to lose 15-20 pounds, we have others that need to lose 300+ and everywhere in between. The amount that you can lose with us, will be estimated during your consultation, as well as discussing what your goals are, and how to get there.
Our program contains no pre-packaged foods, shakes, powders, hormones, or shots. We have very limited supplementation that we use. We want, above all else, for the people we work with to lose the weight, but also to learn, in the process, how to keep that weight off. For that to be the case, the foods recommended have to be real food-items you can buy at the store. If we give you powdered food, and you lose weight, what happens when you stop eating powdered food? You gain the weight back, and learn nothing in the process. The supplements we use are very basic, and are only recommended, generally, during a brief portion of our program to help offset some of the effects of changing your eating habits.
We provide the necessary testing, metabolic booster meal plan, genetic plan, basic supplementation, as well as unlimited support, expert advice, and accountability.
Generally speaking, between 6 months, and a year. Depending on many factors, such as amount of weight to lose, current health status, and lifestyle.
Your genes help dictate how your body metabolizes food, and thus, play a large role in your weight. Our program features genetic testing that allows us to determine what types of food you would respond best to, what foods to avoid, how much food to eat, and other markers related to healthy behavior. Using this information we can provide a summary of an ideal nutrition and fitness program as revealed by your DNA.

Psychologists are experts in creating change. You will meet with your psychologist several times throughout the program to look at how your thoughts and emotions create self-sabotage behaviors, and take you back in the wrong direction. They will work on motivating you and finding ways to confront obstacles, teach you about yourself, and empower you to take control of your life.
Costs vary, and depend on the length of time you will be in the program and the amount of weight-loss to achieve. We will help determine those two things during our initial consultation, and will also let you know price, and payment options, that day.
Insurance does not currently cover the cost of weight-loss, however, if you have a flexible spending account, a health-savings plan, or a health reimbursement account, you may be able to pay for the program through one of those plans/accounts. Please discuss with our financial specialist when you come in.
If you have uncontrolled diabetes, untreated Grave’s disease, cancer not in remission for at least five years, tuberculosis, gallbladder colic, unstable gout, unstable angina, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, this program would not be the best for you.
