MFY is an 8-week program for teens (ages 13-24). Each class is approximately an hour and a half. This program combines materials developed from the MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and MSC (Mindful Self-Compassion) programs and is tailored to the adolescent experience and needs. Each session includes art and experiential exercises, skills building, and learning how the adolescent brain works.
– How to be present and use your attention intentionally
– How to be kind to yourself, especially in difficult times
– Living deeply, passionately in alignment with your core values
– How to work with and resolve difficult emotions and maintain serenity
– How to embrace your life (all of it) with gratitude

Begin Saturday, October 26 from 10 AM – 12:30 PM.
There will be a one day retreat between session 6 and 7.
The MBSR workshop is 8 weekly 2 1/2 hour sessions with an all-day “retreat” between weeks six and seven. Each session consists of sitting, lying down, and walking meditations, discussion of one’s experiences and home practice
The MBSR program provides us a way to calm the inner chatter, the self-reproach and the constant sense of obligation or control. MBSR is a real-world practice for us to learn how to respond to life’s demands with our whole self and in a way that we reduce our suffering and are better able to learn from life’s challenges rather than feel run over by them. How long does this take? Progress is immediate and can continue for a lifetime.
