Parenting Skills & Support Group

Welcome to our Parenting Skills & Support Group! The skills you will learn over the next six weeks will help you to connect better with your children while having access to a supportive, nonjudgmental environment with individuals who have shared experiences with the difficulties of parenting. This is a hybrid class, meaning that there will be times you learn parenting skills from the facilitator and times when you will learn helpful suggestions (or offer helpful suggestions) from others. Please note: this is not a training class. Thus, you will not receive any certifications or abilities to teach or train others. In addition, we may use other resources (such as YouTube videos and Therapist Aid worksheets) in order to enhance the understanding of your parenting knowledge. Participation is not a guarantee of results.

Goals Of The Parent Group:

The goal of the Parenting Skills & Support Group is to:

Attendence

Regular attendance is not required but strongly encouraged, as it is necessary for continuity. Missing more than two sessions during the group greatly reduces the benefits that the group offers. Group sessions are held weekly and last approx. 50 minutes in length.

Group Fees & Options:

The total cost of the 10-week group is $500.

Skills group is billed like tuition for a class. Participants (or responsible parties) pay in full at the beginning of the ten weeks and there are no refunds for missed sessions or dropping out prematurely.

Talk About It - Teen Girls

Starts August 17 (8 weeks)

– Teen girls ranging from ages 11 to 14 years old
– A ten week open groups exploring different topics each week, ranging from anxiety, coping skills, self-esteem, feelings of sadness or loneliness, how to effectively communicate needs, and goal setting skills.

As a young teenage girl, you are going through a lot of changes. New friend, new schools, family changes, and body changes are enough to send anyone into stress about what is happening to them. Many teenagers are unaware that there are ways to help them manage all of the thoughts and feelings they are experiencing during this turbulence. In “Talk About It” we will learn new ways to talk about feelings and how to communicate and express in an appropriate and non-destructive way.

A group setting is a safe and therapeutic environment in which to process thoughts and feelings. In this low risk space, teens will be able to learn and practice their new skills without fear of judgement as everyone is learning together.
